MAIN CONFIGURATION

Elite Keylogger features plenty of options for profound tuning and configuration. Please, go to "Options" tab and you will be automatically redirected to "Main configuration" screen, in which main settings can be customized. Generally this screen will look like this:



Let's go through all of the settings one by one:

Enable monitoring - this checkbox stands for main manipulation to turn Elite Keylogger ON/OFF. While it is checked, keylogger's engine will work and store all the activities into corresponding logs according to your selection. If you uncheck this option, Elite Keylogger wills top recording as soon as the options are saved and updated. This can be a useful setting to temporarily disable keylogging if you don't want a certain activity to appear on the logs.

Show monitoring screen - Another useful checkbox, that lets you warn other users that PC is under monitoring. Enabling this option will show the following label on a Windows Logon screen:





Enable monitoring schedule - This is the option to specify a definite period of time when monitoring should be automatically enabled or disabled. This option is counted according to your local time. You need to specify FROM and TILL settings after enabling this option.

Network protocol monitoring - This is where you need to specify which network activity you would like to be monitored. There are three checkboxes here, all of them are active by default. POP3/SMTP checkboxes are responsible for incoming/outgoing e-mails capturing, while HTTP checkbox enables (or disables when unchecked) Internet Activity log.

Maximum size of stored e-mail message - This limits the maximum size of captured e-mails and may be helpful when recorded letters are very big. Setting this option to something smaller will result in letters' truncation and smaller logs to be e-mailed, as usually the most important information is in the beginning of an e-mail. This setting is counted in Kilobytes

Snapshots interval - This interval stands for screenshots taking time, setting this option to anything bigger than 0 minutes will lead to enabling Screenshots log and will make Elite Keylogger take screenshots of the desktop activity within the specified interval. Default setting is 3 minutes.

Take snapshots of the active window only - will enable Elite Keylogger to screenshot the window that has focus at the moment, as usually it is the window that has all the current activity. However, having the view of the whole desktop may be required.

Do not generate Screenshots log each time - Screenshots history log is the longest to generate, you may temporarily disable its generation (not the capturing itself!) unchecking this option. So that you may find it more suitable to review this activity only once a day, for example.

Do not take Screenshots when screensaver - let Elite Keylogger detect screensaver and stop taking repetitive screenshots

Record functional keys - enables/disables capturing the following keystrokes: F1-F12, Enter, Escape, Backspace, CTRL, ALT, etc

Record other keys - enables/disables capturing the following keystrokes: Arrows, Gray keyboard, PrintScreen, ScrollLock, Pause, etc

Show tips on startup - enable showing "Tips and tricks" screen on startup of Elite Keylogger. All the tips can also be found here.

Monitor printed documents - enable/disable capturing information about all printed documents. The recorded entries of this new log (since version 3.0) will appear in the separate Printed documents log.

Read logs in portions of NNN MB - logs on your hard drive may become really big at times; to be able to continue reading them, you will need them split into readable portions in size, otherwise, it is quite possible that you won't have enough RAM to load the log. This option lets you specify the number of megabytes to be read from the log at a time. This number should not be more than available RAM in your PC. 128 MB is the default value.

Unhide password - Change your unhide password here. Please, note: both new passwords should be identical.

Unhide keyword - Your unique keyword to type in any shell application like Explorer or Run dialog to unhide Elite Keylogger

Monitor only the following user accounts - Here you can specify the list of users to be monitored. Please, note: this list may represent several users that are actually system accounts and actually may be abcent on your logon screen. It is not recommended to disable them.

Monitor only/Do not monitor only the following applications - This is the white/black list of applications to be monitored or vice versa to be omitted when recording the PC activity. Press "Add" button to navigate to executables to be added to this list.

Don't forget to "Save" the changes you made.

Please, note: according to our research, enabling screenshots taking for each minute will make all other logs almost useless, as you will have the detailed playback of all the activity on your PC.
